Griddy is an interesting model.
Alternatively, you could just turn off your main breaker and pretend the power's out until the prices go back down in a couple days.

Good thread on twitter about the various things that are going worng in Texas at the moment.
One notable bright spot is El Paso, where they lost power due to a storm in 2011, and so have spent the past decade winter-proofing their power generation and transmission. Lights are still on there.
