This is fascinating: Radiobiological shot noise explains Three Mile Island biodosimetry indicating nearly 1,000 mSv exposures. Why the release of radioactive Xenon during the Three Mile Island event back in 1979 appear to have been way more biologically impactful than the raw numbers than the physical dosimetry in the area indicated. https://doi.org/10.1038/s41598-020-67826-5
Nuclear is still miles away better than coal, the occasional radiation release has nothing on fly ash ponds and other pollution impacts.

So 1,000 mSv ~ 100 REM. We would've seen dead creatures all over the place. I call shennanigans.
