I admit that I never really paid attention to opera; I never connected with it, and attributed a lot of the sound to needing to fill a concert hall before the days of amplification. I don't know if I'm gonna start listening to it, but holy crap the latest episode of Strong Songs with guest Luigi Boccia is amazing, covering all sorts of detail about vocal technique, the influences of technology, everything. It's fantastic.
