IETF: Ethernet over HTTPS Protocol

This document defines a protocol for encapsulating Ethernet frames over HTTPS, allowing secure communication between a client and internal web servers. The protocol includes authentication using strong API keys encrypted with the server's public key. The communication is secured using TLS for privacy and integrity.

Yeah, it does remind me of RTF 9484: Proxying IP in HTTP, but more so...

Also, that spec is light. Not even a good proxy, but that is essentially what it is.

You can tunnel it over anything.. and yeah, I've used OpenVPN over ports 53 and 443 just cause it gets through. But this has very specific uses that probably should be done other ways.

When the only port security allows through is 443, everything looks like a̶ ̶n̶a̶i̶l̶ HTTPS.
