Grrr. Dear PG&E, nobody wants to break into our house and hack our computer passwords in order to pay our energy bills. You can let a web page stay logged in for a little while longer than that.

I mean, I guess I could see if you were worried about stolen credit card payments (and the resulting chargebacks), but we're just trying to analyze our energy use, and.... ugh.
Though maybe that's the point: make it hard to analyze energy use.

Laughing.. when I worked at/in utilities we used to have this argument all the time. I championed the ability to pay for electricity and water for anyone, just verify the address that you were paying/buying (prepaid electricity and water is common in a lot of places). It was/is very common for working family members, especially overseas ones, to buy for other people. At one island, I think more than 25% of the payments were "anonymous" and from USA IP's... enter meter number, verify address as correct.. put in CC info.
