I think the concerns with cartilage degeneration and osteoporosis with Paxlovid make it less attractive for Charlene. but she's feeling a hell of a lot better today.

I was on a business trip in Seattle when I got covid, luckily could get paxlovid. It should be the poster child of medical system dysfunction.

me: trudge two blocks, wearing N95, to pick up prescription

them: that'll be $400

me: but I have pretty good insurance

them: that'll be $400. Or you can go to the Pfizer website, sign away some of your PII, and you'll get a discount code

me: (goes to Pfizer website, signs away some of my PII) There you go

them: $0. Have a nice recovery.

Hopefully she’s getting paxlovid. It will reduce your chances of catching it quite a bit. When I had it back in April, we managed to keep my sweetie from catching it, but we have more living space and basically each lived on one end of the house, masked when in common areas.

Also expect a rebound back to contagious if she takes paxlovid. I had a day of clear after finishing the paxlovid, followed by 9 days of contagious again. It’s the only time we bought tests, rather than using freebies from the government, and in the second contagious stretch, I tested every second day, because I felt *pretty good* but had shortness of breath for months after the disease was done with me.
