Behind every great cook is a loved one

Behind every great cook is a loved one standing right where I was about to take this hot pan what are you even doing in the kitchen trying to talk to me when I have 6 different dishes each in a separate stage and this was going to be a delicate dance but now I've lost my mental order of what nee.... Anyway, got "make this one again" for this dessert from not-usually-dessert people, though given the sweetness of modern apples I'm gonna scale back the sugar even a little more, and think about butter proportions 'cause I had a lot of leakage from my springform.

After a decade together, we’re getting better at being able to both work on a dinner together in the kitchen, but more than once I will head toward the sink with something hot in my hands, and there’s my sweetie washing out something she’s just finished with. Which is better than it used to be, because she didn’t previously clean as she worked, leaving everything used in preparation on the counter, so if there’s another dish, there’s no place to work on it, but that was still a nice description of trying to cook together.
