The house across the street from ours on the dirt road in upstate New York was a weekend home for a family from the city with a very Italian last name. Their son of my age learned the words to Vatican Rag from listening to it on my record player; apparently this did not go over well with his very Catholic grandparents...

My parents had those records. Fifty years later the lyrics still land hard.
I play a few of his songs on the piano. The Masochism Tango is a lot of fun.
