Thanks to a link from Ziffle I checked my DSL options and they suck. Cable broadband is not available in my area. I am looking into Dish broadband but I am worried about the latencey and the fact that Star band can't keep their website up. Suggestions. PLEEEEEEEEEASE! I need bandwidth!!!

Todd and I already talked about this, but... Geosynch orbit is about 22,500 miles above the equator. Light travels 186,000 miles per second. Even if both Todd's house and the satellite NOC were next to each other directly under the bird ping time would be 83ms each way from Todd's house to the satellite, back to the NOC, back to the satellite, and back to Todd's, for 334ms minimum.
Might work for web browsing, but Counter-Strike would be right out.
