American Gods

I'm about two thirds of the way through Neil Gaiman's American Gods. It's a fun romp, sort of a Sandman[Wiki] meets Tom Robbins, I'm not yet sure if I'm going to end up oddly unsatisfied at the depth of the story, as I have with the last two prose novels of his I've read, but I'm sure enjoying spending time with Shadow, Wednesday, and the gang, and he manages to merge the fantastic with the ordinary in a wonderfully seamless way.

Just finished the book last night and I found it full of just about every American God I could think of. I really liked the book.

I started it last night. I thought the opening chapter was masterful.

It's interesting that he call the book American Gods when there's no mention so far of what I think of as 'American Gods', that sort angry abuse Old Testament G_D who has occasional flashes of New Testament niceness.
