I first read about this several weeks ago, but here is the latest development in the case of a man who has been jailed for his thoughts. The incriminating evidence? His personal journal. Whether or not we believe that what he wrote is sickening, they were not a record of his actions - only his thoughts and musings. This sets a very frightening precedence, my friends...

While I find the precedent troubling, the charge against this guy are kind of complex. It appears that a parole violation is involved, and there was already a guilty pleas in motion when this came out. It is difficult to make sweeping generalizations about legal principles when the case is as convoluted as this.

I've been following this since he first was arrested. This fellow is a person that you really, really, really would like to see behind bars. If we can't follow the rules and philosophy that this country was founded on with this fellow then no one is safe.
