Enron asks California for surplus electricity:
"We don't want to dance on anyone's grave," said Oscar
Hidalgo, spokesman for the California Department of Water
Resources. "But this is sort of ironic."

O Fortuna
velut luna
statu variabilis,
semper crescis
aut decrescis;
vita detestabilis
nunc obdurat
et tunc curat
ludo mentis aciem,
egestatem,
potestatem
dissolvit ut glaciem.
O Fortune,
like the moon
you are changeable,
ever waxing
and waning;
hateful life
first oppresses
and then soothes
as fancy takes it;
poverty
and power
it melts them like ice.
(_Carmina Burana_, "Fortuna Imperix Mundi")

Um. I couldn't think of any real way to respond to this other than an extremely long, loud (read: all caps) eeeeeevil laugh.
But I thought I'd spare everyone. So...imagine everything up to this point being replaced by sadistic, maniacal laughter.
Ok, now that the mood is set:
Talk about poetic justice. Talk about just desserts. Talk about some desperate Texas oilmen.
I thought it was funny that Enron was filing for bankruptcy but this makes it OH so much better.
