Hop-On Communications, a publicly traded company (OTC: HPON), has been promising "The world's first disposable, fully recyclable cell phone!", which will retail for $30, including 60 minutes of calls. So how come the samples given to the press seem to be repackaged Nokia 8290s?

Here's the Stock Patrol article on HopOn. I'm with Dylan, I can't imagine any way at this point that this company is anything other than an elaborately constructed scam.

After reading this article and being interested in buying a sample I looked further for HPON. Found a www.stockpatrol.com article on the companies history. Check it out. An article has been circulating on the internet about a deal HPON has struck with Intel for TDMA chipsets some time in May. On the Intel press Archives I am unable to find any reference to HPON. I am hoping the product exists and I can buy one, sounds like a great product !
