20 minute HIV test

2002-11-08 22:40:13+01 by Dan Lyke 1 comments

FDA approves 20 minute HIV test. Still requires a "health care professional" to administer the test; I'm waiting for "bouncer"... Since we've just gone through kind of a 60s phase with color and design, anyone else foresee "Helloooo, the 70s"?.

It should also be noted that this tests for the antibodies to HIV, not HIV itself, and a body needs on the order of weeks to start generating those in response to an HIV infection, so my fanciful "check your health status at the nightclub door" fantasy isn't quite around the corner.
