Microsoft has released some anti-spyware software. I won't be trying it until I get some good feedback from the world that it's not going to screw up my browsing experience, make my computer run really slowly, or pop-up reminders and questions all the time.

Microsoft recently bought Giant, previous makers of an anti-spyware product with the same icon. I suspect it is merely their product repackaged for Microsoft. I have mixed feelings about its reliability and efficacy.

I just installed it, Dan. So far, so good. I'll let you know in a few days if anything annoying happens.
We will not edit your comments. However, we may delete your
comments, or cause them to be hidden behind another link, if we feel
they detract from the conversation. Commercial plugs are fine,
if they are relevant to the conversation, and if you don't
try to pretend to be a consumer. Annoying endorsements will be deleted
if you're lucky, if you're not a whole bunch of people smarter and
more articulate than you will ridicule you, and we will leave
such ridicule in place.
