Maybe Veiled Conceit would have written our announcement for us (which includes exactly zero of the "loathsome words and phrases"), because I think her writing is hilarious. Ours was actually written by a friend, but I feel sure the Chattanooga Times Free Press edited it liberally.
I am simultaneously honored and disgusted that the newspaper's-powers-that-be feels compelled to charge $1.95 for the privilege of reading the full text. They haven't yet offered me a percentage. If the Chattanoogan lists announcements, I'll plug it there. I like their website gobs more.
