I once spent a lot of effort to become an Un-Person, no checking account, no bank account, no.. well.. just about everything and lived that way for many years. My life changed, I bought property, utility bills, got a credit card, and now exist on paper and electrons in quite a few places. I'm starting to wonder how much of a mistake it all was 'existing' again, and am finding myself musing about keeping a much lower profile. For different reasons: identity theft and financial leeching being the biggest, but also in just keeping as much as is practical and legal off the radar screen of our own Government/IRS/FBI/CIA... In my extensive dealings with our government and law enforcement, I have learned to not trust the machine, even when the best intentions of the people involved are honorable.
