Looks like KPhotoAlbum implements a lot of the stuff I've wanted in a photo manager, with database support in progress.

I don't mind using tags to denote multiple albums, but the feature I'd really like is the ability to tag multiple images as instances of the same overall picture. This'd be especially handy for tracking what's published out to web servers, or backed up onto other machines, etcetera.

So, I've been using KPhotoAlbum (ver 2.2) for about a month now. Overall I really like it, although to be honest this is my first photo management application (I just used folders before), so I don't have anything to compare it to. I do have a couple of minor complaints (or just one, depending on how you look at it) that have recently surfaced, however:

We will not edit your comments. However, we may delete your comments, or cause them to be hidden behind another link, if we feel they detract from the conversation. Commercial plugs are fine, if they are relevant to the conversation, and if you don't try to pretend to be a consumer. Annoying endorsements will be deleted if you're lucky, if you're not a whole bunch of people smarter and more articulate than you will ridicule you, and we will leave such ridicule in place.
