A correspondent recently asked why Objectivism is a recurrent theme with me given that I don't consider myself an Objectivist. Although there's a much longer discussion on this boiling somewhere, part of it is that most humans aren't even remotely rational, they're still dominantly driven by herding instincts and react based on them.
