also that you're fed so many ads and "recommended" things algorithmically, you don't see anything from the folks you want to know, and you know they're not seeing your stuff, so what's the point?

Yes.

Hopefully there's a doom spiral where the smart people migrate to elsewhere and it's just the obnoxious ones left on Meta properties, but I'm not sure where they're migrating to.

A few FB friends have moved to Blüskî, but it seems inevitable that that's gonna crash.
