This is my first attempt at trying to build a Wiki-like knowledge base on top of the Flutterby content management system.

This is a place for explanation, description and static links on a topic that's either too broad to be covered under a single link, or that you're just too lazy to find the real link to.

On Thursday, September 9, ResearchBuzz ( http://www.researchbuzz.com ) celebrates its 300th issue! Since October 1998 ResearchBuzz has been providing weekly pointers and commentary to online research resources, and I have no plans to stop for at least another 300 issues. :->

Last year I moved ResearchBuzz to Movable Type. I continue to tweak the site and have made several changes/improvements that I think you'll like. If you enjoy the site, will you please help me get the word out about the new offerings?

-- 200+ Categories and Date Archiving: For the people who like categories, there's categories ( http://www.researchbuzz.com/categories.shtml ). For the people who like date-based archiving, there's monthly archives ( http://www.researchbuzz.com/archives.shtml ).

-- RSS Feeds for All 200+ Categories: Yes, there's an RSS feed for every single category if you're more into your RSS aggregator than your Web browser. Look for the "Get this category as an RSS feed"/XML Orange Button at the top of the page.

-- RSS Feeds You Can Put On Your Site: Thanks to the miracle of Feedroll Pro and JavaScript, four ResearchBuzz RSS feeds are now available for syndication on any site. (They're really customizable, too!) They are:

Full ResearchBuzz Feed: <http://www.feedrollpro.com/syndicate.php?action=setOptions&id=142&source_id=336>

Google Hacks Category Feed: <http://www.feedrollpro.com/syndicate.php?action=setOptions&id=142&source_id=334>

News About Google Category Feed: <http://www.feedrollpro.com/syndicate.php?action=setOptions&id=142&source_id=337>

News About Yahoo Category Feed: <http://www.feedrollpro.com/syndicate.php?action=setOptions&id=142&source_id=335>

Of course, the regular features of ResearchBuzz, including the fahree weekly newsletter, are still available. New visitors can also visit the New User's Guide to get a full overview of what's at the site: http://www.researchbuzz.com/new_users.shtml .

I've also written a new book, Web Search Garage ( http://www.researchbuzz.com/web-search-garage.shtml ). The info page offers some excerpts from the book as well as a couple freebies you (or your readers!) might enjoy:

-- Four Things Yahoo Can Do that Google Can't -- Seven Ways to Save Time Searching

This is my first solely-devoted-to-searching book since 1998's Official Netscape Guide to Internet Research. If you do book reviews on your site or Weblog, let me know and I'll hook you up with a review copy.

It's been an amazing six years. Search has changed so much, so many more things have been coming online, and there's so much planned for the future. I hope to be here covering as much of it as I can. Thanks so much for your support!
