yep, that makes sense. Something like Vera Wang for men (sweet and fruity) would be better for a date than something woody-leathery like Aramis.

I have a sweet-fruity frag with powdery notes, but it's my secret weapon (it's expensive and uncommon) so I'm not going to share. :P
