The God Equation?

2009-12-07 01:45:43.114277+00 by Chris 8 comments

Scientists working in the UK have discovered robust evidence that the creation of the earth and moon was a deliberate act. The researchers found that the earth, moon, and beyond were engineered according to a specific equation. They have dubbed it the God Equation.

I don't need no stinking equation, suspected all along He was there, and screwing with me

When I am looking at a perfect ass, I know God exists :)

I saw it as satire, but then sometimes I am more than naive as to the depths that homo sapiens will sink to.

I also think it's amusing that anyone takes some silly ratio with arbitrary units as more evidence of divine intervention in the universe than "e^(pi*i)+1=0". If anyone wants to impress me with evidence of intelligent design, starting with some of the cool relationships of relatively simple math is essential.

Ya know, now that GeoCities is gone, it's hard to tell the great physics breakthroughs unless they're on web pages with purple backgrounds and lots of <blink> tags.

I do respect that PZ Meyers chose Comic Sans to make the text appear more respectable.

I remember the atheist's nightmare and laughing so hard at it. The questions are easy to form if you know what you want the answer to say.

This guy also offers no explanation for apples...

I wonder, perhaps it might not be laughter as much as pity. If He were to look down at us and see the butchery and foolishness, only a sadist would take delight in it. Found a quote, maybe it applies:

I sometimes feel appalled at the thought of the sum total of human misery all over the world at the present moment: The millions parted, fretting, wasting in unprofitable days - quite apart from torture, pain, death, bereavement, injustice. If anguish were visible, almost the whole of this benighted planet would be enveloped in a dense dark vapor, shrouded from the amazed vision of the heavens! And the products of it all will be mainly evil - historically considered. But the historic version is, of course, not the only one. All things and all deeds have a value in themselves, apart from their 'causes' and 'effects'. . . All we do know, and that to a large extent by direct experience, is that evil labors with vast power and perpetual success - in vain: preparing always the soil for unexpected good to sprout in. - J.R.R. Tolkien to his son Christopher, 10 April 1944:

I believe there is a $DIETY, and that $DIETY is laughing at us...
