I think I mentioned/requested this in a separate thread/post, but how and where are California tax dollars spent? Where does the money go?

The Governor's budget summary is probably a good place to start. Stopping the drug war could easily free up 5-8 billion bucks, if you could get past the very powerful prison guard's union, I wish I had a better way to analyze some of those other issues.

No arguments about stopping the drug war. It would reduce deaths attributed to it, and derive tax revenue from legalizing pot. As an aside, I had also read somewhere that experienced firemen in some towns make over $200K a year. That's volunteer work in many midwestern states.
