DIY High Fructose Corn Syrup. In case you need small batch artisanal industrial sweeteners.

People make higher fructose syrup than is generally produced by industry in their kitchens without knowing it. All you need do is heat sucrose (table sugar) dissolved in water in the presence of some acidic food stuff like lemon juice. Most food is acidic, which is why some women don't like the taste of semen, as it is basic.

Anyway, the above recipe produces 50% fructose 50% glucose, rather than the mere 42% fructose and 58% glucose typically used as commercial HFCS. If you want more fructose, eat pears (sugar content around 2/3 fructose,) watermelon, honey, or any number of "natural" substances.

Oh yeah, there's plenty of regular "natural" kitchen ingredients with higher fructose content than HFCS.

At some point on Flutterby I was musing about ordering something, maybe it was a dextrose, maybe it was transglutaminase, and a participant here (rightly) snarked about making processed food at home. Since then I've kind of been thinking about where the line between cooking and processed food lies...
