making furniture and such with recycled materials, the things being done with old books are particularly cool.

Great, great stuff! Of course, I begin to wonder about the books themselves. One of the books listed for the Secret Shelf is Scientific Christian Mental Practice. Hmmmm.....

Under the heading of "TMI": The author of Scientific Christian Mental Practice, Emma Hopkins, was a student of Mary Baker Eddy's, the founder of Christian Science and The Church of Christ, Scientist. She (Hopkins) branched off and taught Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, who incidentally also studied Eddy's teachings. The Fillmores later founded the Unity church. I haven't read Hopkin's book, but am guessing that it would overlap with some of the ideas in Eddy's primary work, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.

Note to the unwashed: Christian Science gets confusing because they use words like 'science' with a almost different meaning and connotation than most of use the word science.. and several other words that have other specific means to me (a devout practicing gnostic theist).
Nancy and I have been discussing bookshelves in the bedroom... All of a sudden, I get images of my F150 loaded down with old hardback books.
