Larry, the one thing I screwed up is that the seat is about 2" higher than I wanted it to be , so the curves in the backslats don't hit my back exactly where I wanted. So it's way more comfortable than the one it replaced, but it's not perfect.

It's a beautiful chair and it looks like one that will hold up for years and years and be passed down to nieces or nephews. But how comfortable is it. ;)

Took a board, screwed a couple of blocks into it, and laminated them out of 3 layers by bending them around those blocks. It went fairly well, but I've got some ideas for better clamping next time, and I was also not paying attention to how sharp my saw blade was, so the faces of those strips were rougher than they should have been.
