I'm still recovering from the weekend. Luckily, I got deluged by links from CJ, so while I'm recuperating and working here's stuff for you to read.

The $500 house looks fine for Hawaii. Its like my brother's house in Costa Mesa CA; one Chicago winter would leave it a stack of kindling and the inhabitants would freeze in their beds, but in a forgiving climate all you need is to keep the rain off. I also wonder what a local building inspector would say about using a propane grill for the stove without proper venting. And when you live much if your life out of doors or on a veranda, the size isn't claustrophobic. Hmmm, maybe I can retire to a place like this...

Well, JT, I suppose a script could be written and things arranged so that when the cat did what it normally did around the computer those images would be downloaded. When I was a kid I use to set my brother up to do things I wanted done but he would be the one taking the fall for it.

JT, that cat's definitely got to be a touch-typist, which is impressive, because mine just has trouble holding down the shift key to get the ':' when typing in URLs.

The one jury I've served on, the defense attorney really harped on "beyond a reasonable doubt". In our case the law also specifically said "knowingly", which made that phrase even vaguer, but I can see a defense attorney throwing up all sorts of "don't really expect this to fly but hoping that it'll be a part of the background when I pull out the 'reasonable doubt' bits" smokescreen.

10 initial charges for child porn, 90 secondary charges. I'd like to know how a cat can download 100 pictures instantly by jumping on a keyboard... and why you wouldn't delete them immediately. My only thought is that Captain Dipshit is going to file an insanity plea later.

Things blow around.. and you put them back when if's over if you can find them. In a small storm, your house is still standing as the wind blows right through it.

There didn't seem to be any windows (maybe screen though), so I have to wonder what happens to the insides during a hurricane.

Nor mine, Eric, but I'd be proud to have a structure like that in my neighborhood.

That $500 home definitely would not pass the design review in my HOA.
