Latest woodworking tool lust: The Arbortech Mini-Grinder.
The Abortech Mini-Grinder promo YouTube video looks like the good bits out of a
rather long and over-detailed Google, which is worth watching just because I think I could carve most of the leaf wrapped around the wooden vase using tools that I've already got...
Looks like it's about $230. Not sure I can justify it right now, but it's definitely on my "want" list.
Turned on to this by this thread over at LumberJocks where someone noticed it in use on a clip on Spiegel on line.

I have been lusting after one of the Arbortech. Amongst other potential uses is
"knurling" type patterns as decoration on pieces being turned on a wood lathe.
I don't know about the quality of all King Arthur Tools. I only have used the
Guinevere miniature inflatable sander kit, but my experience with it is not
good. The quality of the motor is seems poor. There is no speed control and the
motor runs fast, which means that you have little to no control of the sanding
domes with the coarser grits. The inflatable domes are not sealed well, and that
makes it a pain to change sandpaper which is done frequently for grit changes.
The flexible shaft vibrates truly excessively even when not under load.
My Foredom sr flexible shaft, at about the same total cost, runs about 5-6 times
faster but runs true and much more smoothly than the King Arthur. They just have
different workloads so I can't use it in place of the Guinevere.
I would never buy another King Arthur tool, but I must disclose that I tend to
hold very serious grudges about such things. Probably more so than is optimally
efficient for tool purchases.
