I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two Office Suites diverged, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Does anybody have thoughts on Open Office vs Libre Office?

Libre also added file compatibilities that for some reason the official effort wouldn't do. Don't trust Larry Ellison, he's screwing up Sun (I speak from painful experience).

I'm wondering about the future --- guesses about which will be developed better,
continue to be supported, ...

Same code base. OpenOffice.org was acquired by Oracle in the Sun sellout, Libre Office was the developers
saying "screw this!"
In practice, Libre seems faster, but there're enough else different on the platforms I'm running them on that it's
probably not that easy and they're just the same.
