There's a picture of a very similar folding in the Marin Headlands on this page that's labeled as "radiolarian cherts", as I'm interpreting the page it's a sedimentary rock formed from the debris of some sort of single-celled organism.

I'd say the folds are, on average, about two inches thick.

The rock folding was extremely interesting. Do you know what kind of rock this is, and can you give a sense of scale to either the ridges or the picture. Thnx
