University Intramural Basketball team calls itself "Fighting Whities" to mock "Reds" sports team name. Their jerseys state "every thang's going to be all white".

Personally, I would have gone for "Backstabbin' Honkies", or something -- "fighting", in a sports context, is still a positive descriptor, and "whitey"... well, <shrug>, I think "honky" has more baggage, which in this case would be a win.

I'm afraid that 99% of whites will find this humorous and see absolutely nothing derogatory about it. I like the turnabout aspect of this, I just don't think it can be effective.
