That's my impression. Apparently the boat builder used the wrong aluminum, so they're jacking up the cabin and the engines and putting a new hull underneath.
I wish I could find Uncle Ezlee M. Pressed, so I could get his take on this. A few years ago in a net correspondence he gave me the lowdown on being a bidder for the high speed ferries, and losing, and some of the reasons he gave for losing make me not at all surprised that they're having these issues now.

I'm no mariner, but it does seem to me that a "hull replacement" is a bit like your dentist keeping the teeth but getting rid of the gums.
