Fun things to do on a weeknight.. include helping Ann (caver friend) hang a rope from a tree in her back yard for climbing practice. It brings a new meaning to "hanging around at Ann's". - first thing she tries: rapelling upside down. - Putting a large external flash on my CyberShot makes a BIG difference on night shots.

Does anyone else keep flashing on "vertical smiles" when reading this entry? Out of my brain, Tom Robbins.

Yes a big flash does help. A friend of mine some years ago took a great picture of an old steam locomotive at night. He used a looong multiple exposure shot from a heavy tripod, "painting" the loco by using about 8 different flashes to illuminate various parts. Now imaging doing it while you're dangling upside-down from Ann's tree and we first do your head, then your chest.....
