Tuskegee re-examined

Remember the tale of black syphillis patients left untreated "for science"? It's a tale oft-quoted when people talk about experimental ethics and review boards and the like. Via Arts & Letters Daily, I strongly recommend the essay Tuskegee re-examined

Between the media and historians with an agenda, the past is twisted to suit. Excellent article/essay.

An interesting article. It remionds me a bit about the rash of black church burnings a few years ago, which became a national problem, only that roughly the same number of tiny, wooden, isolated white churches were burning down as well.
