Yeah, the neck knot gave me pause for a moment, but I know I've seen it done. I'd have to play with it to be sure and/or look for some other resources to verify.
Stiff rope gives me the heebie-jeebies, but that may be because I'm a climber and not a caver, and mud starts out as being the mortal enemy.

I've been at parties with the serious rope geeks doing beautiful "japanese rope bondage" with full human suspension demonstrated, and they would not put the main loop around the neck and genitals that way. but hey.. maybe I need a new skein of dynamic rope, my PMI pit rope is hard stiff and grungy?
